Program Description

Event Details

Creative Collective promotes wellness and enrichment through art-making experience. Join our open-ended art-making program where you are free to be creative and expressive with many different forms of art! You can participate in meditative art forms that enhance mental and physical health or you can participate in more advanced technical and directed projects led by our facilitators and visiting artists!

The focus: Geometric Quilt Squares inspired by the Gee’s Bend Quilters Quilts

Geometric Quilt Squares inspired by the Gee’s Bend Quilters Quilts have a history of being beautiful and functional textile pieces. Either made by hand or machine, they are a staple in cozy settings. Traditional patterns often utilize geometry, pattern and symmetry, however, the best part of something hand-made is the presence of the artist's hand! In this workshop, participants can create small quilt squares inspired by the many unique and beautiful textiles pieces of the Gee’s Bend Quilters.

All supplies will be provided. Registration required. Adults are welcome.

This program will run on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month in the Mary Hollis Conference room, located on the 1st floor of the Central Library.

(Next door to the Library Shop).
