Program Description

Event Details

In this 4-week series of workshops, participants will learn about the symbolism of mandalas and then will create their own.  Each session begins with a discussion of the meaning and significance of that week's mandala, a short meditation, drawing the mandala, then coloring and painting it.  The mandalas will get more complicated each week, so it is highly recommended that participants attend all four sessions.

The types of Mandalas we will explore are:

  • April 8: Vesica Piscis
  • April 15: Seed of Life
  • April 22: Flower of Life
  • April 29: Metratron's Cube

Mandalas are rooted in the idea of Sacred Geometry representing the divine consciousness of our origin. It is the study of the measurements and proportions of matter and energy in relation to the principle of sustainability that creates life.  Sacred Geometry is a branch of geometry that explores the inherent order and harmony found in the natural world, religious symbols, and various forms of art and architecture. It has roots in ancient civilizations such as Egypt, Greece, and Mesopotamia, where it played a significant role in religious and philosophical practices.

Presenter: Déborah Arévalo, a Mandala Artist from Venezuela, and Art Therapist specializing in mandalas.  Déborah graduated from BINDUICAT Institute of Creative Arts Therapy and Siempre Gala art school.
