Program Description

Event Details

A Black History Month edition of our San Diego Oasis program series:

Feel the complexities of music from Sub-Saharan Africa. In this course, we’ll intuitively listen to the polyrhythms of percussion ensembles that send messages and entertain important dignitaries. Experience the lively performances from the Juju popular music of Nigeria to the smooth sounds of mbube vocal ensembles from South Africa.

Presented by Bernard Ellorin, Ph.D.
