Parable of the Sower
By Octavia E. Butler
Parable of the Sower is a classic must-read. It takes place in L.A., the year is 2024. There is chaos and destruction from years of climate change, drugs and disease. The main character Lauren Olamina tries to make sense of it all and goes on a journey, looking to make a better life. With what she was taught from her Pastor Father, she envisions a new religion, called Earthseed, and how this new religion can influence the change that is needed.
