Summer is upon us. Include us, the library, as one of your go to summer plans. We will be featuring family-friendly Summer movies every Wednesday in June. 

For those contemplating constructing a family tree, as well as for experienced genealogy researchers.

Volunteers are there to help guide you in your research.

No appointment necessary. First come, first served.

Children become storybook characters and participate in bringing beloved fairy tales and award-winning stories to life with Literature Comes to Life.

Sensory play. Join us outside to play with our new sensory tables. Mud play, sand play, and more! Program takes place in the garden, past the patio. 

Babies and toddlers can come play with educational toys while the grownups keep track of their kids and visit with each other.

Join us in this dancing storytime that geared towards toddlers and their parents. Enjoy new and classic stories of all kinds and get ready to get all those wiggles out and dance away the jiggles and pent up energy!

The Teen IDEA Lab is a space to be used for creative projects that require specialized equipment and software.

Featuring a music studio, Makerspace, and iMac workstations and so much more!

Dance, sing, laugh, and enjoy engaging stories with Carrie The Librarian! This program is recommended for ages 2-5 but all ages are welcome at this fun weekly program. 

Be sure to attend this lively and entertaining story performance featuring books presented in a Japanese style of folktale storytelling called Kamishibai. This is a children's storytime that the whole family and all ages can enjoy!

Stories, songs, fingerplays followed by Stay and Play.

In this highly interactive, music-based storytime program, children have the opportunity to make music, learn beats, and dance and move to the sounds. All ages are welcome to attend.

Children and their caregivers are invited to enjoy simple stories, songs and community.  Reading practice helps young ones to develop school readiness skills and also encourages  perspective-taking, enhanced language ability, and critica

Join us for a lapsit storytime with board books, rhymes, songs, and fingerplays for pre-walkers. For ages 0 to pre-walkers.

Mind and Body Fitness is done mostly standing or in a chair. No mats required.
Space is limited to 25 people per class.

Be sure to get to the library a little early, this class fills up fast!

Through colorful picture books, catchy songs, and playful rhymes, Señor Roberto or Mr. Robert brings stories to life in a way that’s fun, educational, and culturally enriching.

For young children (ages 2-6) and their families: learn important social skills, problem-solving, and early literacy through games! In partnership with Toy Hermit.

Toddler Story Time in Kensington Park will be held at 10:30am. There will be stories, songs, and bubbles! Join the fun!

This bilingual program is designed for preschool children to experience both English and French in a fun, engaging setting. During each session, we will read stories and sing in both languages.

Library for All is a monthly arts and crafts program for adults with special needs. People of all abilities are welcome to participate in this event.

Southern Caregiver Resource Center (SCRC)

Prepared to be amazed by Allen Oshiro's astonishing magic tricks!  This family magic show is filled with comedy and interactive magic tricks.  Kids in the audience will have the opportunity to be a magician's assistant for the day!!!

Get help on the computers and with your digital devices from a Digital Navigator every Tuesday! They will be located in the computer lab and around the printer. Digital help offered in English, Spanish, and Tagalog.

Digital Navigators will be onsite for free, one-on-one assistance to help you.  Get basic tech support or improve your computer skills.

A gathering of intermediate & advanced players who want to enjoy a few rounds of mahjong together!

Come take a walk on the wild side with Wild Wonders and their animal ambassadors!

Reading, phonics, writing and other helpful practices in Language Arts are some of the topics that will be covered.

Discover a world of bubbles you never knew existed with our Bubble Science Projects. You will be amazed with our bubble magic while learning about the scientific concepts of Matter, Structure, Energy, and more!

In this class, you will learn tips and tricks that you can implement at home and in other settings to break your sugar addiction as well as strategies on how to control your cravings.

Learn a practical way to landsacpe at the San Ysidro library! Create a beautiful and productive living space with greens, berries, peppers, fruit trees, and other edible plants.

Come learn a new game and play with staff!

We will have many games available for parallel or communal play.

Ever wonder what it takes to make a video game? In this program, students will learn the basics of video game development and design using the Scratch programming language to build their own games. Software and equipment provided.

The Teen Game Room is open! Come check out our Nintendo Switch and PS5. Teens regularly play Smash Bros., Mario Kart, Fortnite, Gang Beasts, Marvel Rivals, NBA 2K and more. 

Paint your own 3D printed Labubu, learn how to draw a Labubu to make your own stickers, and more! This summer camp lasts a week, with many Labubu crafts and projects.

Join us on the Patio outside the children's room for arts and crafts after school every Wednesday at 2pm.

Activities are designed for school age children.  Young kids may require parent assistance.

Don't stop learning this Summer! Come practice your reading or math skills, then join us for crafts or games! Enjoy our free educational worksheets or learn how to create something new. 
 

Join the UC Book Club for some great book discussions. The June meeting will cover The Body: A Guide for Occupants by Bill Bryson.

Need to finish some homework, work on a project, study for a test, or just relax and read a book away from the distractions at home?

Join us every Wednesday at the Ocean Beach Library to read to DK, our bearded dragon or Darwin, our Ball Python. Practice your skills and gain confidence by reading to these enthusiastic and non-judgmental reptiles.

Join us on the last Wednesday of every month as we make hand-crafted cards using various methods. Participants will work with a variety of textured paper, die cuts, embossed paper and other media to create cards that are hand-crafted by you!

The Mission Hills Mystery Book Club attendees discuss a mystery novel on the 4th Wednesday of each month at 3:00 PM. Pick up this month's book at the Mission Hills-Hillcrest/Knox Branch Library.
