A 5-Star Variety Bash of Arts, Laughter, and Imagination — for Kids of All Ages!

Learn how to weave with an expert textile artist from the San Diego Creative Weavers Guild!  This class is targeted to homeschooling youth ages 8+. No prior experience required, and all materials will be provided.

Join us on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 11am for Kamishibai Storytime . Before TV and comic books existed in Japan, there was kamishibai, or paper theater.

Ikebana is the Japanese art of flower arrangement. It is more than simply putting flowers in a container. It is a disciplined art form that breathes life into each composition, harmonizing the elements of nature and humanity.

Get crafty at the library every week! Each week there will be a unique craft that is fun for all ages. All supplies will be provided.

Providing enrichment for our animal friends is incredibly important! During this monthly program you can help us make fun and easy enrichment items for homeless animals at our local Humane Society.

 Let's get creative with Perler Beads! You can make keychains, coasters, necklaces, bracelets, or ornaments by creating any designs using little beads bonded together with heat.  It's easy, lots of fun, and even meditative.

Join us every second Monday for an entertaining book club where we’ll discuss a great kids book, do a related craft, and enjoy snacks.

Grab a chalk and draw! We have a rainbow of colors and all shades in between for you to create your one-of-kind colorful art piece to beautify the library's patio.  

Stretch your imagination and discover the artist within you've always known existed! Create fabulous crafts! In this program, get detailed instructions on how to make a craft you'll be able to take home!

In honor of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, create your own beautiful koi fish art using watercolor paint. For ages 5 & up.

STEAM every other Tuesday with library staff as we take on a unique science or art project!  All supplies provided.  Grades K—5^th.

In celebration of Dia de los Ninos, discover the beauty of Mexican folk art.  This art lesson uses an alluminum circle and a paper plate to create a colorful representation of a prevalent form of Mexican folk art.

Join us every Tuesday from 5-5:30pm for Create! At the Library, featuring a new craft each week. This program is for youth aged 5-11, that will develop fine motor skills and creativity.

Celebrate Jewish American Heritage month at the Carmel Valley Library. At our “Chai” crafting corner, you will be able to: Color your own bag, create a blue and white friendship bracelet, and color fun, festive, Jewish history coloring pages.

Bring your ideas to life at our Mobile Maker Lab in the Mission Hills-Hillcrest Library. Learn to use various programs and equipment  such as our 3D printer and die cut machine powered by Silhouette Studio.

Participants will learn a multitude of creative watercolor techniques and how to apply them when painting a seascape.

All skill levels are welcome.

Sign ups are required and will start on April 12 at noon.  Space is limited.
