AI has been around for a long time, although it wasn’t until OpenAI launched ChatGPT in late 2022 that the topic sparked heated debates. ChatGPT brought the issue out of the lab into people’s homes and people wondered, “Is this thing good or bad?” When asked about it, 54% of Americans say they are cautious, 22% say they are scared and 19% say they are excited. As with any new disruptive technology, it’s important to explore all aspects of AI before making decisions about benefits or detriments to society. In this panel, two artists and two scientists will reflect on this timely and important issue. Join us, provide your perspective, and engage in much needed communal dialog.
