This solo violin program features contemporary classical works by Aleksey Igudesman, Christian Howes, Jason Anick, and Jessie Montgomery, as well as selected movements from Bach's Sonatas and Partitas, Piazzolla's Tango Etudes, Bacewicz, and other favorites. Jesus Cervantes served as concertmaster of the SDSU Symphony Orchestra and was the recipient of numerous awards, including the Fisch/Axelrod Scholarship, Conrad Prebys Performing Arts Award, and the 2018 Presser Scholar Award. As a soloist and chamber musician, he has performed in recitals nationwide.
