Major Wine Regions of California

How is it that Napa Valley produces excellent Cabernet Sauvignon but lacks Pinot Noir of great heritage? Mendocino grows wonderful white grape varieties but cannot produce world- famous red wines. Sonoma produces outstanding Zinfandel but wine judges look the other way at their Cabernet Sauvignon. This class will familiarize you with the six major California grape-growing regions to aid you in making the best choices when purchasing California wines.
