Van Gogh in Arles (Class #100)

Van Gogh completed over 200 canvases in his 444 days in the South of France. Inspired by the bright colors and the strong light of Provence, he painted such masterpieces as ‘The Night Café’ and ’Sunflowers’ and many canvases depicting the locale in and around Arles. Paul Gauguin joined him in Arles during this period. We will also look at this curious relationship between the two artists.

Lectures at the Library is a programming series of FREE classes with San Diego Oasis. These lectures are meant to encourage learning, engagement and deep thinking about current events. Please take a look at what other topics we will be covering over the next couple of months. Feel free to take part in all or some of them.
