Join Bertrand's Music & Lessons for their community event "Instrument Exploration," tailored to introduce novice musicians to various instruments like flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, alto saxophone, and violin.

All sewing levels welcome!   New to sewing?  No problem.   No experience necessary.  We will show you the basic skills that can be used in future sewing projects.

Interested in learning robotics and computer programming? Then this class is for you! Participants will learn to program the Micro:bit microcontroller, a fun hand-held computer used to make robots!

Providing enrichment for our animal friends is incredibly important! During this monthly program you can help us make fun and easy enrichment items for homeless animals at our local Humane Society.

Put your engineering and problem-solving skills to the test by taking part in unique LEGO building challenges or let your imagination run wild and build your own special LEGO creations.

Join us for our weekly LEGO Club program! Promoting STEAM and creativity, let your kids express their inner engineer! Designs will be displayed in the children's library stacks.

Learn about bugs and other insects as you sculpt them out of clay. For ages 5 and up.

 Let's get creative with Perler Beads! You can make keychains, coasters, necklaces, bracelets, or ornaments by creating any designs using little beads bonded together with heat.  It's easy, lots of fun, and even meditative.

Study and get help from our homework coaches!

Grab a chalk and draw! We have a rainbow of colors and all shades in between for you to create your one-of-kind colorful art piece to beautify the library's patio.  

Join us in our courtyard for a month-long exciting activities followed by short story time or some science – related information about gardening for children.

Let's play chess!  All ages and skill levels are welcome to play casual games in our relaxed setting. 

Come join us for Lego Club on the first and third Wednesdays of the month from 4pm - 5pm! The library provides the Lego for creative free build. Creations are displayed at the library for 2 weeks. All materials must stay at the library.

Explore DNA mysteries through hands-on labs and challenges. Using tools like VR, electronics, and forensics, tackle topics like DNA replication, mutations, and genetic traits while honing problem-solving and teamwork skills.

Children’s craft every Thursday at 4pm. Join us every week to learn a different medium, how to recycle everyday materials into art, and explore monthly observances and holidays!

Inviting all K-8 students and families for an exciting evening of science exploration!

Join us for a fun and informative event where you can meet and learn about the fascinating insects commonly found in gardens!

In this “mysterious” program, students use chemistry, physics and observation skills to piece together evidence and crack the case.

Come and play with various STEAM kits from our STEAM Trunk.

Celebrate Earth Day.  Explore the artistry of upcycling and sustainability.  Participants will create a beautiful book garden from upcycled products. 

For ages 8-16. 

Materials provided, DUPLO is available.

Join the excitement as you design and build your very own wind-powered car! Using engineering skills and creative thinking, you’ll craft a beach cart with sails to harness the ocean breeze.

Kids can enjoy being creative by building with LEGO blocks and DUPLO bricks. It's a great opportunity for exploring with new ideas, as well as sharing concepts and strategies with other attendees.

Come drop in to play various STEAM games in our downstairs children's area. Learn about programming, circuits, and more!

Bring your ideas to life at our Mobile Maker Lab in the Mission Hills-Hillcrest Library. Learn to use various programs and equipment  such as our 3D printer and die cut machine powered by Silhouette Studio.

Enjoy a family night where students and their group create together!  Please register all participants including parents, relatives, etc.).

These four, fun and easy workshops offer lecture and hands-on teachings on how to grow a healthy and productive garden!  All workshops are taught by UCCE Master Gardeners of San Diego County.
