Let's build, create, and play while we grow our little builders minds!!  Come play with Duplo Legos for preschool STEM learning.  Caregiver participation required.

Need a space for your little one to play and socialize with other toddlers?  Then our Stay & Play program is for you!

Explore the wonders of chemistry, physics, biology, and math using common kitchen items. This course offers hands-on experiments that turn your kitchen into a lab where learning meets fun!

Calling all LEGO Builders!

Put your engineering and problem-solving skills to the test by taking part in unique LEGO building challenges or let your imagination run wild and build your own special LEGO creations.

Join us for our weekly LEGO Club program! Promoting STEAM and creativity, let your kids express their inner engineer! Designs will be displayed in the children's library stacks.

Students will learn about natural pigment and printmaking through flower pounding, the processes of pressing or smashing a natural plant or flower into a piece of fabric to create a photogenic print through the natural pigment within the plant.&nb

 Let's get creative with Perler Beads! You can make keychains, coasters, necklaces, bracelets, or ornaments by creating any designs using little beads bonded together with heat.  It's easy, lots of fun, and even meditative.

Study and get help from our homework coaches!

Join us to make you own zipper pouch! Instruction and materials will be provided.  This program is for ages 12 to 18.

Grab a chalk and draw! We have a rainbow of colors and all shades in between for you to create your one-of-kind colorful art piece to beautify the library's patio.  

Join us in our courtyard for a month-long exciting activities followed by short story time or some science – related information about gardening for children.

STEAM every other Tuesday with library staff as we take on a unique science or art project!  All supplies provided.  Grades K—5^th.

Join us for a fun and creative workshop where you'll discover the art of painting with spices right from your pantry! We'll explore how to use everyday spices to create vibrant colors.

Let's play chess!  All ages and skill levels are welcome to play casual games in our relaxed setting. 

Youth are invited to join the La Jolla/Riford Library and students from the Point Loma Nazarene Biology Department in a fun & hands-on series of Bio Lab workshops!

In this workshop's topic is: Marshmallow Catapult!

Cyanotype photography is a camera-less technique that involves laying an object on paper coated with a solution of iron salts before exposing it to UV light and washing with water to create stunning white and Prussian blue images.

In this fun and interactive class, students in grades 3-6 will learn the fundamentals of programming using Scratch, a beginner-friendly, block-based coding platform.

CREATE - SHARE - PLAY!

Join us in making your own soapstone bead bracelet. Participants will learn the basics of archaeology, and how experimenting with crafts can help archaeologists understand the artifacts they encounter.

Science Club is for 3rd through 6th graders who are interested in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, & Mathematics). Each week kids engage in a new and fun hands-on/minds-on activity exploring a wide range of subjects.

This stellar program is your ticket to the stars! Watch star dust burn, and journey through a soapy galaxy as you investigate the life cycle of stars! Use your Cosmic Disk to explore the constellations! NASA approved program.

Young explorers, dive into chemistry, biology, and physics with our FUN classes at the Rancho Bernardo Branch Library, led by passionate high school students eager to share their love for science! 

Kids can enjoy being creative by building with LEGO blocks and DUPLO bricks. It's a great opportunity for exploring with new ideas, as well as sharing concepts and strategies with other attendees.

Bring your ideas to life at our Mobile Maker Lab in the Mission Hills-Hillcrest Library. Learn to use various programs and equipment  such as our 3D printer and die cut machine powered by Silhouette Studio.

Weekly meeting of the Girls Who Code Club Session "What is an API?". Registration Required at 2/10/2025 Open House event or onsite to participate in this session.

Explore DNA mysteries through hands-on labs and challenges. Using tools like VR, electronics, and forensics, tackle topics like DNA replication, mutations, and genetic traits while honing problem-solving and teamwork skills.

These four, fun and easy workshops offer lecture and hands-on teachings on how to grow a healthy and productive garden!  All workshops are taught by UCCE Master Gardeners of San Diego County.
