Join California State Parks for "Park Ranger Storytime!" Join us for a California State Parks Ranger Read-Aloud session! Engage with Interpretive Rangers, participate in interactive activities, and discover how to access free park resources.

Students ages 10-16 will engage in an exciting, hands-on robotics program to help them prepare to take part in FIRST robotics competitions.

The Healthy Adventures Foundation will be teaching teens and adults cooking skills - come learn to cook!

Level up your sustainable cleaning game by learning to make your own household cleaning products using earth-friendly ingredients! All supplies provided. For ages 13 and up. 

Age 8 and up; Girls Who Code Clubs are meant for girls (and nonbinary students) to join a sisterhood of supportive peers and role models and use Computer Science to change the world.

Learn about the basic foundation of Environmental Sciences! This course builds an understanding of the living world, environmental issues, and sustainability through engaging activities, demos, and instruction. 

An interactive show that is both fun and educational!

Discover how hot and cold science can be as you take a journey through the world of fire and ice.

In this five-week workshop, students in grades 1-5 will build contraptions out of craft and office supplies to complete interactive, exciting challenges in teams, learning important concepts in engineering and teamwork along the way.

Ever wonder how scientists monitor animals when we can't be near them? Join us as we look at real camera trap footage from Cabrillo National Monument and identify the animal species we see!

We supply the Legos, you provide the creativity!  Children ages 6-12 are invited to unleash their imaginations and build!  This program will meet on the first and third Monday of each month. 

Join us for our weekly LEGO Club program! Promoting STEAM and creativity, let your kids express their inner engineer! Designs will be displayed in the children's library stacks.

For rising 2nd-6th graders!

 Let's get creative with Perler Beads! You can make keychains, coasters, necklaces, bracelets, or ornaments by creating any designs using little beads bonded together with heat.  It's easy, lots of fun, and even meditative.

For ages 10-16; An engaging, empowering workshop made to inspire the next generation of scientists through movement!

STEAM every other Tuesday with library staff as we take on a unique science or art project!  All supplies provided.  Grades K—5^th.

THIS WEEK'S PROJECT: 

Let's play chess!  All ages and skill levels are welcome to play casual games in our relaxed setting. 

Join us and local artists Toshwerks for a fun, hands-on DIY crafty project recommended for ages 8 and up: Succulent Sand Art. Make these beautiful terrariums with upcycled glass containers, colored sand and drought tolerant succulents.

CREATE - SHARE - PLAY!

The Baseball Diamond has been stolen and it's up to Sherlock and Watson to solve the mystery! Original songs, handmade puppets and the audience decides whodunit!  Was the motive jealousy? Money?  For the fun of it? 

Science Club is for 3rd through 6th graders who are interested in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, & Mathematics). Each week kids engage in a new and fun hands-on/minds-on activity exploring a wide range of subjects.

Kids can enjoy being creative by building with LEGO blocks and DUPLO bricks. It's a great opportunity for exploring with new ideas, as well as sharing concepts and strategies with other attendees.

Bring your ideas to life at our Mobile Maker Lab in the Mission Hills-Hillcrest Library. Learn to use various programs and equipment  such as our 3D printer and die cut machine powered by Silhouette Studio.
