The Friends of the San Diego Public Library will be hosting its next book sale at the University Heights Branch Library at 4193 Park Blvd (at Howard Ave), San Diego 92103. Enter at the Sprouts parking lot entrance.

Come join us at (San Diego Museum of Art) SDMA for free entry, snacks, and storytime. Stay as long or as short as you'd like. 

Tours are designed for kids ages 0-5 and their caregivers.

For those contemplating constructing a family tree, as well as for experienced genealogy researchers.

Volunteers are there to help guide you in your research.

This summer, the young poets of Monarch School are publishing the eighth volume in the More Odes to Common Things book series. Come celebrate these brilliant minds during their book launch party!

Join us monthly for a screening of feature films that were adapted from books. Today we will be viewing The Outsiders directed by Francis Ford Coppola and based on the novel by S.E. Hinton. We hope to see you there!

Join us at the Kensington-Normal Heights Library for a Free Persian Music Concert in the park. The music will be jazz inspired with a Persian flair. There will be a mix of Eastern and Western Instruments.

Have you always wanted to learn how to play chess or improve your skills? If you have never played before, or are just looking for someone to practice with, join us for some friendly competition!  All supplies are provided.

Mr. Electric brings a fun, high energy, and electrifying science show to the library about electricity from Franklin to Tesla and beyond.  

Do you enjoy playing chess or have you always wanted to learn? Chess increases problem solving skills, abstract reasoning, creative and strategic thinking, and pattern recognition. Best of all, it’s fun to play!

Come to the library and make a fun pencil/marker holder with yarn, a tin can, and googly eyes.

Join us every Thursday from 4:00 - 5:30 pm for Chess in the 1st floor Mary Hollis Clark Conference Center, off of the main lobby of the San Diego Central Library.

Come build your creations while making new friends!  All Legos will be supplied by the North University Community Branch Library.  Your creation may even be featured in our display case!

Bring your ideas to life at our Mobile Maker Lab in the Mission Hills-Hillcrest Library. Learn to use various programs and equipment  such as our 3D printer and die cut machine powered by Silhouette Studio.

We welcome anyone who wants to learn how to juggle and anyone who wants to practice. No experience or equipment necessary. See you on the 9th floor!
