The Geranium is recommended by Kristina Garcia at the San Diego Central Library. "I couldn't stop reflecting about the characters and their interactions. So much pain from race, family, age, mistakes, and lack of self-knowledge. This story was her first piece of fiction first published in 1946 when she was only 21.
