Weekly readings of favorite classic and modern short stories selected by library staff performed by Write Out Loud professional actors. Part of WOL’s popular reading performance program Listen to This where new stories are released daily for the community to enjoy.

A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings is recommended by Lydia Bringerud at the North Park Library. "I personally love magic realist literature, and literature that makes us question the boundaries of belief. First published in 1955 as part of the collection “Leaf Storm.  Read a copy here and listen to Lydia discuss why she selected it.

Gabriel García Márquez is one of the world's most revered writers, awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1982. His masterpiece One Hundred Years of Solitude is hailed by one critic as "the first piece of literature that should be required reading for the entire human race".
